Hakone Onsen Sanso Nakamura

Hakone Onsen Sanso Nakamura is a 15-room inn with tatami rooms and a quiet, practical atmosphere. The bath is the defining feature: milky Sengokuhara water carries a pronounced sulfur aroma and is dense enough to obscure hands and feet beneath the surface.

The source runs free-flowing through the communal indoor baths, which remain available around the clock. There is no elaborate outdoor circuit; the pleasure lies in the colour, scent and mineral presence of the water itself.
