Tatsunoyu

Tatsunoyu lies just inland from Yunohama, close to the Sea of Japan but separated from the large beachfront hotels. Its strongest feature is geological: two spring sources with different mineral profiles feed a sequence of indoor and open-air tubs, allowing the water itself to change as guests move through the bathhouse.

The circuit includes large communal bathing, an open-air bath, a private bath and a sauna. This variety makes the inn especially satisfying for travellers who like to spend unhurried time comparing temperatures, textures and settings rather than taking a single evening soak.
