Yorokobi no Yado Shinki stands high in Ikaho, with guest rooms and the observation bath looking over Mount Akagi, the Nikko range and distant ridgelines. The large windows make the changing sky as important as the clear Silver Water used in the baths.
The inn’s “Silk Kaiseki” draws on Gunma’s sericulture heritage by incorporating edible silk powder and mulberry leaves. Seasonal courses may also feature Joshu beef or local pork, giving the concept a regional base rather than treating silk as decoration.
Indoor and open-air communal baths are joined by a private bath. Shinki suits travellers who want wide mountain views and a dinner with a specific Gunma idea, while the clear simple spring offers a gentler experience than Ikaho’s better-known iron-rich Golden Water.
