At the tip of the Dogashima cape in Nishi-Izu, Ten'yu commands a vantage point over Sanshiro Island that changes register with every season and every hour of light. The kitchen earns its scores: kinmedai simmered in the local manner and abalone served with liver soy sauce announce a chef who knows this coast with conviction, and the Ikyu meal rating of 4.83 is not easily achieved across 635 aggregated stays.

The onsen is genuine sulfate spring water and at least one guest reports kakenagashi flow in the private room bath — the correct arrangement for a property of this ambition. What holds the score below the first tier is an amenity vocabulary that drifts toward the wellness resort — ganban-yoku, sauna, a lobby lounge opened in 2021 — and a shitsurai that does not yet match the distinctiveness of the cape setting.

One guest returned a second time with three generations of family; that is the credential that counts.
