Ryokan Ryuki

Ryokan Ryuki in Muikamachi is a wellness-oriented country inn grounded in farming rather than luxury spa design. Japanese and Japanese-Western rooms provide simple accommodation, while the kitchen uses vegetables and wild plants grown with organic fertiliser on the inn’s own farm.

Minamiuonuma Koshihikari anchors the meals, accompanied by seasonal produce in a hearty “farmer’s table” style. This direct link between field and plate is the strongest part of the food experience.

The bathing area offers five styles: a free-flowing natural hot spring, rock bath, herbal bath, reclining bath and vibration-wave bath. A separate paid stone bath uses fifteen mineral stones, adding an unusual heat ritual beside the natural water. Ryuki suits travellers interested in local rice, vegetables and repeated bathing, with an emphasis on restorative routine rather than polished aesthetics.
