Kusatsu Onsen Inn Eidaya is a ten-room property with a relaxed, practical character. It is set back from the busiest part of town, while parking beside the inn makes it convenient for guests arriving by car and exploring Kusatsu on foot.

Three private baths use free-flowing hot-spring water and are available on a walk-in basis. The absence of a large communal bath keeps the experience small and personal, with couples and families able to bathe together without arranging a formal reservation.

Dinner is brought to the room in a shokado-style box, accompanied on applicable plans by Joshu mochi-pork hotpot, salad and dessert. Breakfast is served at the associated Akaneya dining room. Eidaya is best for independent travellers who want privacy and flexibility rather than the choreographed service of a formal ryokan.
