Kintaro Onsen

Kintaro Onsen is defined by a rare mixed spring combining sulfur and saline water. It emerges at about 75°C at roughly a tonne per minute, then flows naturally through an extensive bath complex of indoor, open-air, private and sauna facilities.

The high mineral concentration gives the water a pronounced scent and physical presence. Selected rooms add their own bath, but the large stone bathing areas are the main event and suit guests who enjoy spending substantial time in shared pools.

Dinner follows Toyama Bay’s seasons: firefly squid and white shrimp in spring, yellowtail and snow crab in winter. Kintaro is a destination for travellers who want powerful water and a broad seafood calendar, with large-hotel convenience supporting rather than defining the stay.
