Yunokawa Onsen “Haradaso”

Haradaso combines a Japanese garden with a small traditional inn in Izumo’s Yunokawa Onsen. Japanese-style rooms look toward the garden, making the changing planting and light a central part of the accommodation rather than an incidental view.

The baths use freely flowing Yunokawa spring water. Seasonal kaiseki draws on ingredients from Shimane’s mountains and coast, with the property emphasizing local produce and homemade elements. Together, the garden, meals and spring give the stay a coherent regional character, although the rooms and facilities remain relatively modest.

There is an important booking restriction: the inn’s official website states that it does not accept reservations from overseas customers. Eligible guests should also note that on-site payment is cash only. Those conditions make Haradaso unsuitable for many international itineraries, despite the appeal of its garden and bathing.
