Teradomari Coast Tsuwabuki Onsen - Sumiyoshiya, Inn of Culinary Exploration

Sumiyoshiya stands opposite Teradomari Fishing Port and holds local auction rights through the fishermen’s cooperative. That access allows the kitchen to serve the day’s catch as sashimi or grilled fish with unusually little distance between boat and table.

All rooms are Japanese style, with larger connecting layouts for families. Sea-facing rooms look toward the sunset and, on clear days, Sado Island, giving the inn a strong sense of the Niigata coast.

The large indoor and open-air baths use Teradomari’s spring water. Sumiyoshiya is best for seafood-focused travellers who want a working port outside the door, a traditional room and a sunset soak. The setting and auction connection matter more than elaborate design.
