Takeo Onsen Taisho Roman no Yado Kyotoya

Kyotoya was founded in 1910 and carries a Taisho-Roman mood across both Western-influenced and Japanese sections. The 35-room property has visible age and character, offering an atmosphere more nostalgic than polished.

Japanese meals are straightforward and seasonal, while a complimentary morning service keeps the stay accessible. The kitchen supports the historic setting without claiming to be Takeo’s culinary destination.

The inn draws weakly alkaline simple water from its own source for communal and open-air baths; dry saunas were added in 2025. There is no private or room-attached bath. Kyotoya suits travelers who enjoy period atmosphere and genuine spring water, and who are comfortable with an older building and modest meal program.
