Asamushi Onsen Nanbuya Kaisenkaku

Nanbuya Kaisenkaku stands opposite the water in Asamushi, only about two minutes on foot from the station. Its upper-floor bath makes the most of that position, opening broad views across Mutsu Bay while guests soak in hot-spring water. Open-air and large communal bathing are available, and selected rooms are advertised with their own open-air baths.

What distinguishes the hotel after dinner is performance. Tsugaru shamisen is played in the lobby each evening, while selected event plans add Nebuta music, folk song and hand dance. These are living regional arts presented as part of the stay, not decorative references to Aomori culture.

The property reopened after renovation in 2024 and operates at hotel scale, so it suits travellers who favour convenience, views and scheduled cultural activity over seclusion. With the station, shoreline and performance space gathered together, it also works well for a first visit to Aomori when a rental car is not part of the plan.
