Shinshu Fudo Onsen Sagirisou

Sagirisou is a small mountain inn in Shinshu whose food identity begins with locally raised Suffolk lamb. The meat appears in jingisukan and other preparations, joined by seasonal ingredients from the surrounding countryside.

Its spring rises near Fudo Falls and has a complex sodium bicarbonate, calcium and magnesium sulfate profile. The large communal bath keeps the bathing experience simple and focused on the water, available around the clock.

All rooms are traditional tatami and the two-storey building has no lift, reinforcing the plain country-inn character. Sagirisou suits food-curious travellers who want a rare regional ingredient, quiet mountain surroundings and a mineral soak, and who are comfortable with modest facilities and stairs.
