Kesennuma Oshima Ryokan Kameyamaso

Kameyamaso is a small seafood inn on Kesennuma Oshima, close to the island’s Kameyama viewpoints and the singing sands of Juhachinaruhama. It offers Japanese, Western and family room types, but the accommodation is deliberately simple. The property’s identity comes from its relationship with the surrounding water rather than interior refinement.

The inn is operated by a fishing family and builds dinner around the fresh Sanriku catch. Depending on season and plan, ingredients can include shellfish raised around the island as well as Kesennuma seafood. Meals are generally served in private rooms, and a separate grill dining area gives some plans a more direct, convivial format.

A compact shared bath is available, but Kameyamaso is a food-and-island stay first. It makes most sense for travellers already exploring Kesennuma or planning time on Oshima, with dinner serving as the centre of the evening.
