Gyotakuso Suzukiya traces its beginnings to 1899, when it opened as a restaurant serving Chikura’s fishermen. That origin remains the most useful way to understand the inn: meals and the local catch lead the experience, while the rooms provide a traditional setting in which to slow down around them.

The cooking retains the fuller seasoning associated with fishermen’s food. Seafood is the central attraction, with meals arranged in a guestroom or private dining room according to the reservation.
