Syoenso Hozugawatei is a 56-room Yunohana Onsen property built for variety. Eight room styles include Japanese and Western combinations, cypress baths, and selected private open-air baths, while the scale and entertainment facilities give the atmosphere a lively group-friendly character.
The large bathing grounds contain outdoor pools, a mist sauna, stone and cypress baths, medicinal bathing, and private rental baths. A weak radioactive radon spring supplies the onsen, making the breadth of the bathing circuit the clearest reason to stay.
The kitchen brings in fresh seafood from Kyoto’s wholesale market and combines it with Tamba or Tajima beef, local vegetables, and Kyoto-grown rice. Bamboo shoots, conger eel, matsutake, and boar hot pot appear with the seasons. Hozugawatei suits guests who want choice and facilities, with regional food and onsen depth outweighing architectural intimacy.
