Ryokan Tokiwaso

Tokiwaso preserves the scale and atmosphere of an older Dogo inn. With only four rooms and a building retaining its Taisho-era character, the stay feels closely tied to the town’s history rather than to a contemporary resort format.

The spring bath uses the same source as Dogo Onsen Honkan and is made available privately to each group of staying guests. That provides a quieter way to enjoy the town’s water after exploring the nearby streets. The building has been renovated while keeping its older form, so room and access arrangements are worth checking carefully.

For meal-inclusive stays, the food draws on seasonal Seto Inland Sea fish selected by the senior proprietor, whose background is in fishing. The source arrangements describe meals served in the guestroom. Room-only plans also exist, giving travelers a choice between an inn-centered evening and dining around Dogo.

The strongest reason to choose Tokiwaso is the combination of a small historic building and private spring bathing. Its scale leaves little distance between a traditional room, dinner and the next soak.
