Oyado Tsuki

Tsuki sits above Futo, a small fishing port on the eastern Izu coast where kinmedai come in at dawn and the Sagami Bay extends unbroken to the horizon. Its nine hanare, each fed by the property's own sulfur-tinged kakenagashi spring — calcium-sodium sulfate-chloride, alkaline, with genuine hydrogen sulfide character — give the inn its defining credential: the water is the real thing, and the private outdoor bath at the ocean's edge after dark, when the bay catches the moon, is the moment the inn was built to produce.

The kaiseki is conscientious and local-minded, drawing directly from Ito Port with kinmedai given appropriate respect, though the cooking can lean indulgent over austere, and the Ikyu meals score of 4.46 is the weakest of its platform ratings. What Tsuki does reliably well is make guests feel attended to at genuine personal scale: staff accommodate needs — dietary, physical, personal — without being asked, and the hanare format ensures a privacy that establishments of greater scale cannot replicate.
