Onyado Shikishimakan (Kyoritsu Resort)

Shikishimakan reopened in 2019 on Kotohira’s shrine approach, reusing materials from a former registered cultural property. Its recreated facade and modern interiors offer historic atmosphere with the consistency of a contemporary 100-room resort.

Seasonal kaiseki is served in semi-private dining rooms, featuring Seto Inland Sea sashimi and Kagawa olive-fed wagyu. Complimentary late-night food and other small services give the large operation an easy rhythm.

Communal, open-air, and four private baths use hot-spring water, with sauna facilities and selected room baths adding choice. Shikishimakan suits travelers who want a polished Konpira base with substantial bathing and regional food, while accepting a reconstruction rather than an untouched historic inn.
