Masago Yuyuan

Masago Yuyuan is a small tatami-lined inn on Shinojima, reached after the island crossing. Its Benzai 6-2 setting offers a quiet retreat shaped by the surrounding sea. Because the property is on a small island, arrival planning matters more than at a mainland inn.

The inn has eight rooms. One Japanese-Western room has an open-air bath facing Mikawa Bay, but the bath water is not identified as a natural hot spring.

Meals focus on kaiseki prepared with seasonal ingredients from around Shinojima. Seafood is central, and selected plans may vary by catch and season, so check the exact course when reserving.

This is best for travelers prioritizing island atmosphere, tatami interiors, and food over a natural-hot-spring experience. Confirm ferry timing, room layout, bath type, and meal inclusions before arrival. Pack lightly for the boat transfer and allow extra time in rough weather.
