Masago Yuyuan

Masago Yuuyuu-an is an eight-room inn on Shinojima, with every guest room facing Mikawa Bay. Tatami extends beyond the bedrooms into much of the property, including the bathing areas, producing a soft and unusually continuous material character. Some rooms add their own outdoor bath for a more private stay.

The table is closely tied to the island. Octopus, abalone, Ise lobster, and Chita beef appear alongside natural fugu in season, with dishes prepared to order and served in the room. That combination of a small house, local catch, and direct meal service gives the inn a strong sense of occasion without requiring elaborate spectacle.

Its sodium chloride spring water is transported from the mainland. Even with that limitation, the bathing rooms and sea view complement the inn’s intimate scale. Yuuyuu-an is strongest as a food-led Shinojima stay with tactile interiors and personal space.
