Bessho Onsen Nanjo Ryokan

Bessho Onsen Nanjo Ryokan has seventeen rooms at the heart of Ueda’s historic hot-spring district. The inventory includes sixteen Japanese rooms and one mixed Japanese-Western room, keeping the atmosphere smaller than a large resort.

Communal indoor and open-air baths use simple sulfur spring water. Fresh spring water is continually added while circulation filtration also operates. Added water and routine heating are avoided, although the open-air bath may be heated during winter.

One special Japanese room has a cypress bath supplied with hot-spring water, providing a private option only for that category. Dinner includes a seasonal Nanakuri kaiseki course, while upgraded plans can feature Shinshu beef kaiseki. Children’s meals are also available.
